Our little addition!

So here is the reason I haven't had time to blog much lately.... on December 10 God blessed us with this beautiful 8 lb 7 oz 21.25 in little girl, Nora Jane! She is so sweet and we are so in love with her!!!

Here she is right after they took her from my belly (I had to have a c-section) she didn't wanna come out at all!!!

Here is daddy feeding her.... He is the best daddy EVER!

Getting dressed to go home! Isn't she the most beautiful little girl you've ever seen!
She not only stole our hearts, but our sleep as well!!!

I have been recovering very well! still a little sore and swollen and can't do anything until after Christmas but I am enjoying snuggling with my little one and starting my life as a stay at home mommy! Also I am down 6lbs from my weight BEFORE I got pregnant! WOO HOO!! Baby weight gone and then some!

I probably wont be able to get down to the basement to start working one things around the house again until after the new year so I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

Baby room update!!

Entering Baby's Room!!!
We are so excited for this little one to get here but this is a tour of the room after I got everything pretty much put away! I haven't really felt like doing much since I have just a few days left until my due date which I feel this kid of mine may just stay in my belly forever!

Here is the crib and the abc's I got on sale at meijer for $3.47 for a whole pack of letters (tons left over) so when baby gets here we can put the name on the wall as well!!!

More clothes than I have!!! and a I have a nice stash of size 1's and wipes in here too... The basement has my size 2 and 3 stash!

Better picture of the bedding! I love it so much now it just needs a baby to be sleeping in there!!!

Changing table area! I'm going to regret this next statement but I can't wait to change baby on there!!! :)

behind the door hooks... baby bath robe, shopping cart cover, nursing cover and baby coat!

Shelves above changing table... We have way too many cute things

here are only a few of the books we have and a really cute frame we got! our kid has so many books already probably enough to start a childrens library!

I will continue to "take it easy" as I was told by the doctors and wait it out... the baby will be here soon!!!

Movie review 7

I will tell you what the older I get the more I fall in love with this movie every year... and I do watch it every single year in black and white! I have never seen the color version but I do know its out there! If this doesn't melt your heart and make you happy then I don't know what will.

As a kid I didn't appreciate this movie like I do now as an adult, I think kids get distracted if a movie doesn't have bright colors to keep them interested and then as a teenager, I don't know what my problem was but now its one of my very favorite Christmas time movies!

Here is a picture when "George gets his wish"

Please watch this movie and feel free to leave a comment about it but trust me it is one of the best movies and its perfect for a "movie night in" with your significant other, cuddle on the couch, drink hot chocolate and enjoy a classic!

Movie reviews 5 & 6...

The Santa Clause 2 and 3.......

Ok, so I loved the Santa Clause... Therefore I went out and bought the next two... the second one I really liked and there were some very sweet moments and some very hilarious moments and I feel that kids and adults would both enjoy "the Mrs.Clause" however the third and final movie was horrible if you ask me. They were really trying hard to put that one together. The story line wasn't great and I honestly don't even think kids would really like that one! One of the biggest Christmas movie disappointments out there!!

This is by far my favorite part in the Santa Clause 2... He goes on a date with this lady that would be "perfect" for santa... She loves everything about Christmas, notice her sweater! she even sings him a song which makes him very uncomfortable! I laugh every time at this part!!

The Santa Clause 3 "escape clause" is my least favorite of all of them. It really didn't have very "memorable" parts if you ask me! The acting was pretty bad as well!! Which is sad because I love Tim Allen and Martin Short, you would think the two of them together would have been hilarious but not so much....

I hope you enjoy some Christmas movies this season and please feel free to share when you have found a great one!

Movie #4

ELF...

"Buddy the Elf, What's your favorite color?"

This movie is one of my favorites and I could watch and do watch it year round...  This movie is appropriate for families to watch, there are jokes in there for adults and its entertaining for children.

I have seen this movie so many times that I quote lines from this movie all the time.. as seen above!
I say to my husband all the time "I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in love and I don't care who knows it"

another favorite quote that is said quite often is "Oh, he's an angry elf."

There are just so many great quotes from this movie... more about the movie...

Its about a human raised in an Elf world that travels to find his Father in NYC. He travels through the seven levels of the Candy Cane forest, through the sea of swirly twirly gum drops, and then walked through the Lincoln Tunnel.

Once he gets to NYC he experiences life in a whole new way and helps people find the spirit of Christmas...

JUST WATCH IT.. Trust me you won't be disappointed!

Also Happy Election Day
Don't forget to cast your vote!

Movie #3

Jeff Dunham's very special Christmas special

This movie is one for when the kids are asleep... I wouldn't consider this really Christmas at all... there are a few parts that talk about Christmas but for the most part its just a regular Jeff Dunham show... Bad language makes it not so good for kids!!!

The funniest scenes were those with Achmed the dead terrorist... "Silence! I kill you!" and when Guitar guy comes on stage to help him preform "jingle bombs" which is pretty funny!

The movie as a whole made me laugh a few times but for the most part not that hilarious... I really would not recommend this movie to anyone asking for a "Christmas" Movie... I was browsing my Amazon Prime movies and seen it and thought I'd review it tonight for the blog... but in all honesty I will just stick with the good old Christmas movies and ones recommended by people I know!

I hope you enjoy a good Christmas movie and feel free to suggest a movie for me to watch and review!!!

Movie #2....

Home Alone...
Its pretty much a classic now!

First of all I want to start off by saying that I even watch this movies sometimes in the dead of summer just because I miss Christmas so much!! It is such a hilarious family movie! I love it so much!! and I'm on the only one... here is the link to its IMDB page with rating and description...

For those of you who have not seen this movie stop reading and just go out and buy it!! The holiday season just isn't complete without this flick...

About a boy left a home while his entire family goes away overseas... mid-flight the family realizes he is missing and spends the rest of the movie trying to get back home to him, mean while he is there taking care of business being the "man of the house".
This is a picture of one of my favorite scenes where the "bad guys" are in the house trying to get him but he does a really great job of outsmarting them...

Its one of the best movies and I have been watching it for as long as I can remember... it came out in 1990 and I was 3 that Christmas so pretty much my whole life!

I hope you all enjoy this one as much as I do!!!

Tonight I finished the movie a little early so I thought I'd go ahead and do my entry so I don't forget! We are going to be busy tomorrow. We plan to do some home winterizing around the windows, fix a broken gutter from the windstorm earlier this week and maybe even hang our Christmas lights before it gets too much colder, snowy or icy! This is the first weekend since we bought our house that my husband has Saturday and Sunday off, and we aren't going to someones house and we aren't getting company! Home Improvement weekend!!!

Christmas Movie #1.....

First night and I watched "The Santa Clause" with Tim Allen...
THE FIRST ONE....

This movie is so fun to watch... It has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. Watching it now as an adult I hear things that went over my head as a kid which makes it that much better now!

This is one of my favorite parts in the movie where "Scott Calvin" first gets to the north pole and meets the elf "Judy"... I don't want to give any of the movie away in case some of you haven't seen it... but I will say this its such a great movie for a family to sit down and watch! So I recommend getting this one asap!

I will leave you with my favorite quote from this movie....
"Seeing isn't believing, believing is seeing.... Kids don't have to see this place to know its here, they just know."

You should really apply that to your Christmas Season anyway...

More Movie reviews to come!!! Who knows what will be next!!!

Holiday Season 2012 Begins!

I'm always so happy and excited this time of year.. every year (which just further proves I'm a human sized elf from the north pole) I enjoy EVERYTHING from cooler weather, Thanksgiving, hearing all the good stories of people helping each other out in different ways, seeing Christmas lights go up and Christmas songs come on... Kids in the store that get excited just seeing a picture of Santa... It
was the "Holiday Season" that I met the love of my life, we got engaged on Christmas morning a few years later....This year we have our first baby coming during this wonderful time year (In just a month or so!) I am so blessed and Thankful for everything I have and all the people I have in my life! So glad its "that time of year" Remember to take it slow this time of year, spend time with loved ones, forgiving people who need forgiven.... Enjoy the little things, Christmas songs, baking cookies, the lights... take it all in! Most of all smile... the holidays aren't supposed to be a stressful time of year they are supposed to be a magical time of year full of love and happiness... :)

With that being said I am going to shift the blog a bit and start my Holiday talk... I want to start a project reviewing some Christmas movies... So I am going to start this Month and try to do a review a day and I'd like to watch a Christmas movie every day until Christmas... but I can say that wont happen because sometime I will be in the hospital having my little one between now and Christmas so I will miss a few days at least... but I will do my best to do a daily movie update from now until the baby comes anyway.... I will also blog about other things going on this "holiday season"... Baking projects, maybe a few DIYs.... the more pregnant I'm getting the less I feel like doing... My craft room is down in the basement and I can't be on the steps by myself during the day in case I were to fall or something but I will do what I can!!!

Enjoy my blog, and Enjoy this time of year!!!

Please feel free to recommend any movies for this time of year!

Baby prep

Ok, so I haven't posted anything for a while until tonight... and here is my reasons :I had my mother-in-law, sister-in-law and niece come and visit, then my baby shower weekend, then trying to set up the baby's room and then my sister visited... so I've been super busy working in baby's room and visiting with family... Here are some updates on baby's room which I will do another entry later when its all done!

That is my baby niece "Ali Bug" playing around in all the stuff I got at my baby shower... I am really blessed to have such wonderful friends and family! I got almost everything I needed and tons more!

This is the baby's room from the hall... I just want everyone to know that is a baby's room... I got this at the shower too... and LOVED it!!! it went up right away!

I have also been shopping for the things I didn't get at the shower... James' grandmother sent us some money to buy the baby something and this stroller is one of the things from her!

Changing table is put together and is now my catch all for everything that needs put away! I'm having so          much fun working in the baby's room!

I seen this pacifier jar on pinterest and had to do it too... I have all the pacifiers and pacifier hooks in there.. most of which are Winnie the pooh!

The crib is put together and also another "catch all" until my mom "nana" comes to make the crib... that's what she wanted to do! So i'm saving it for her lol.. and that adorable bag hanging off the end is something my best friend made me... she sewed a million things for me and made everyone I know incredibly jealous :) Thanks Jess!!

Here is the closet that is busting open with things that need put away still...

The room is a work in progress but when it gets done I'll show it off!!! I'm so excited to see this little baby that has been kicking me and growing inside me for so long... we have about 6 weeks left!!!

Mummy Dogs...

Mummy Dogs....

You will need seamless dough or crescent rolls and hot dogs... Now I recommend the seamless dough its easier to work with and Nathan's skinless hot dogs are SO GOOD! just like sam's club!

Pre-heat oven to 350 and spray pan... lay dough out and cut into strips... make enough strips for how many hot dogs you have... you may have some dough left over just make a bread stick or something..

Wrap each strip around the hot dot to make it look like a "mummy" and bake for 15-18 minutes

and here you go... They are so good! It was a crowd pleaser here... Husband says "when are we going to make these again??"

Halloween Wreath

Halloween Wreath

You will need:
Wreath (Styrofoam worked best because it looks smoother)
Yellow, Orange, Black yarn,
Black Fuzzy yarn
Styrofoam cone
Pins

Since I had a white wreath I covered it in black yarn first since the fuzzy yarn is a little expensive to cover the whole thing with... Then I put the fuzzy black yarn around this to give it that look!

Then I cut one cone in half... its easier to attach if it is halved and then you have an extra (my Joanns only sold these in two packs)

Then I took the yellow and orange yarn to make the cone halves look like candy corn... I pined it instead of gluing it, mainly because my glue gun is in the basement and since I'm getting a big prego belly my husband doesn't like when I go down there when I'm home alone... the pins worked well....

I pinned them to the wreath and will probably reinforce them with the glue gun later....

I Tied some orange yarn around the top and hung on the door!!!

I love making wreathes so much!!! I hope you enjoy and are inspired to do the same!!

Mama Mia... Its a Pizza Pie...

PIZZA!

You will need:
Pizza Crust
Pizza Sauce
Cheese
toppings of your choice, I used ham and pineapples

Roll out the pizza crust... I baked it at 350 for about 8 min. before putting anything on it... if you don't pre-bake it will be doughy and taste gross!

I then spread the sauce... we use LaRosa's spaghetti sauce and I don't like much sauce and James likes a bunch so thats why its uneven! also add all the cheese you want.. we like a lot of cheese...

I found better ham in the fridge than the diced ham in the first picture so I got this out and cut it up in small pieces...

Put the toppings on...

Being pregnant what I want changes from minute to minute... so I wanted pineapple but by the time I opened the can of pineapple chunks, I no longer wanted them... so again my husbands half has more stuff than mine!
Bake on 350 for another 7-10 minutes... and there you have it!

And there he is... A very happy Hubby... who says... "mmm...Good..mmm" or something along those lines :o)

Enjoy Pizza at home... Fun to make and it turns out how you want every time! plus it is cheaper than take out and sometimes cheaper than frozen and it tastes better than frozen and take out!

Waffle Project

Make ahead and freeze Waffles....

You will Need: 2 eggs
               2 c. flour
1 3/4 c. milk
1/2 c Vegetable oil
1 Tbsp Sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp Vanilla extract

Heat up your waffle iron and mix together all ingredients, I doubled the batch so I could see how much that made.... and double batch made about 24 very large waffles which will last us a while...

Spoon mix onto a greased and warm waffle iron....

put on a plate to cool....

I bagged mine in freezer quart bags for individual servings and then put the quart bags into gallon freezer bags (i will reuse the gallon bags and probably the quart size as well for next time I make waffles...)
and there you have a nice homemade alternative to those pricey, filled with junk eggos.... they are so good and filling... Husband says ... "Oh wow, those were the best and more filling than I thought!"

I call this a great success!!!
