Organizing Kitchen

Organizing My Kitchen.... One cabinet at a time... maybe two!

So I decided that I was going to start to organize my home a little better... Yes we just bought and moved into the house this summer but me being pregnant nothing got put away the right way... it was all just kind of tossed around... So now I'm going through and slowly organizing everything the way I always wanted....

I started out with a home organization cabinet... I keep the top basket full of cards to mail out for that month such as birthday, holidays and anniversary cards... the next basket down is full of my post its, calculator, mini stapler and things to that nature. The bottom shelf has my home organization binder which I will do another post later about that... but it has phone numbers, addresses, menu, shopping lists, bill schedules things like that. I also have folders for this weeks store ads, things to take down to the file cabinet, mail to go through, coupons that need clipped/filed and recipes that need filed.... I also have a round basket full of pens, markers  scissors and a ruler.
I put a dry erase board in there too, I write important dates for the month and if I have notes or anything for bill day I put them on there as well... a new phone number or address...
This is everything I need on a weekly basis to make our home run smoothly!!!

Next I did a "kid" cabinet... We are expecting our first baby in December! So I don't have much... this is just what I have as of now... some tumblers with straws that wont be used for a long time! Some storage containers, teething toys and sippy cups... I have plenty of room for bottles and little plates and I am going to put the baby spoons in a little cup....

I hope this inspires you to organize your kitchen as well!!! and remember you can always send me pictures of what you do and I will do a blog post with updates from my viewers!!! Enjoy!!!

Best Sunday Breakfast!!

                        Sunday Breakfast....

You will need:1 egg, 2TBS milk, a 16.3oz can of Grands or the store brand equivalent, 3/4 cup shredded cheese and a 2.1 oz package precooked bacon....
Preheat oven to 350 and prep a casserole dish with some Pam or whatever you like to use.
First mix the egg and milk together, then cut the grands into quarters....

Fold the grands into the egg and milk mixture

Then Fold in the cheese and bacon... you can also add some onion and it tastes really great I just didn't have any this morning!

Pour the mixture into your casserole dish... I doubled the recipe today so my husband would have something to snack on throughout the day....
Bake for 25-30 min. until golden brown and the grands are cooked through.... remember times vary on different ovens...

and there you have it! The best pull apart breakfast ever!!! we love this so much!!! I hope you all enjoy...

Also Feel free to send me any pictures and tweaks you make to my recipes and I will do blog updates with your photos and Ideas!

"Mumkin"

My first "mumkin"

First you will need to get a pumpkin, some potted mums and a pretty ribbon... I don't like the goo so I also had my husband do the gross parts of this project!!  Cut the top off as round as your potted mums...

\
Then you will see a pumpkin filled with gross goo as I call it....

Remove the gross goo... this is where the husband came in very handy! he also grabbed a spoon and really cleaned the pumpkin out for me...

we made sure the mums fit well and then we took the flowers back out let the pumpkin air dry a couple hours and watered the mums and let them drain.....

Then I put the mums back in the pumpkin and tied a ribbon around them to make it look a little cuter...

now since this was my first attempt at this I'm not sure how long the pumpkin will last but it was about $3 at my grocery store so if I have to pick a new one up every 10 days or so that is fine with me... my first porch is so cute for fall... (we are first time home buyers this year so look forward to more decorations)

Pulled Pork!!!

First Crock Pot meal!
BBQ Pulled Pork

First I got a medium size pork loin and cut it in half and then froze half and cut the rest in half as well.... since it is just my husband and myself we don't need much... I seasoned my meat with salt, pepper and garlic powder. I added about a cup of water in the bottom of the crock pot and cooked the meat on low for an hour... I start out on low because my grandmother told me its the best way to warm up the crock pot for a long meal. After the hour, I turned the heat up to high and cooked for an additional 4 hours.

I then pulled the meat out and put it on a plate and I got the liquid out of the bottom of crock pot and saved a cup and discarded the rest. I then just took two forks and started to pull the meat apart. It was very easy because it is so tender already!

Then I put the meat and cup of liquid back in the crock pot and I added a whole bottle of bbq sauce, I used kroger brand honey bbq... I cooked on high for another 90 minutes.

And here we are.. the husband is putting it on the bun... He says "best meal ever".  We will be having this again sometime soon!!!

I hope you enjoy and I hope you make some of this yummy food!!!!

MMM....Pie!

 Mini Apple Pies!!!!!

Here we go... the easiest mini pies ever!!
Ingredients Crescent rolls, pie filling and some sort of caramel topping....
Preheat the oven to about 350 degrees....

Unroll the crescent rolls and spoon out some apple pie filling... This one pictured has too much filling and is very messy... Less mess use less filling and remember pinch the ends so that nothing comes out the sides...
Bake for about 12 min.

Let cool for a few minutes....

Have husband put his own caramel on... or use it as a dip...
and there you have Easy mini apple pies! Husband says.... "Best he has ever had!"

I would say these were a great success!!!!! I hope you all try them out and enjoy them!

Eggcellent

A new spin on "hard boiled" eggs!!
So these eggs are a great Idea and so easy!!! Put eggs in a muffin tin and bake for about 25min. on about 325... Remember everyone's oven is different so you should try just a couple eggs first to see if the temp and time is right for you!!! but this is such an easy awesome way to make a ton of "hard boiled eggs"!! Think Easter!
After you get them out of the oven toss them gently into a bowl of ice water... very, very cold ice water... let them sit in the ice bath about 10 min. this helps with peeling and so you can enjoy them faster!! Great idea!!!
Then bam.... you can eat them and check it out... the middle isn't greenish... its 100% yellow!!! and my husband said they were the best ones he ever had!

I hope you all enjoy!!!
